Fairfield, Connecticut offers plenty of special events – no matter what time of year you visit. Festivals, fairs, arts and crafts shows, fireworks – there's lots of fun in the Fairfield resort beach area for the whole family. From an Oyster Festival to Shakespeare on the Sound, and a Balloon Parade Spectacular to kick off the holidays – the special events in Fairfield will thrill children of all ages – from eight to eighty!

Annual Bird Carving and Wildlife Show – usually held in May. Featuring world-class carvings, wildlife art, children's activities, fly fishing demos and much more.

Annual Dogwood Festival – usually held in May, this special event includes an art show, children's activities, music, food and a walking tour of the historic town.

Discovery in the Garden – Guests enjoy a tour of unique garden estates in historic Southport Village and Greenfield Hill. Usually held in June.

Annual SeptemberFest – Rides, games and prizes, raffles, bingo and lots of good food.

Annual Barnum Festival Polo Classic – Steinkraus Polo Match & Antique Car Display includes a champagne brunch. Usually held in mid- September.

Enchanted Forest – Halloween is celebrated at the Connecticut Audubon Center in Fairfield. Includes a “non-scary” night time walk, games, crafts and refreshments. This is a great, safe and fun way to celebrate the autumn season.

Shakespeare on the Sound – Professional outdoor theater on the waterfront. Guests are invited to bring a blanket, low chairs and a picnic. This event is free, but a donation is appreciated. Usually takes place in June.

Round Hill Highland Games in Norwalk – a tradition for over 80 years. This event features pipe bands, a Scottish rock band, a rock climbing wall, children's activities, fish & chips and traditional Scottish meat pies.

SoNo Arts Celebration – For over thirty years, the annual SoNo Arts Celebration lights up the streets of the historic waterfront of South Norwalk. Includes juried fine artists and craftspeople, live entertainment and a giant Puppet Parade.

Norwalk Seaport Association's Oyster Festival – Usually held in September. This annual special event includes a Children's Village with rides and games, one of the largest arts & crafts shows in the country, a concert every night and a variety of food vendors.

Art to the Avenue in Greenwich – An annual outdoor art exhibit in the town of Greenwich, usually held in May.

Winterfest – An annual three-day festival presented by the Greenwich Historical Society. Includes a candlelight tour of the historic Bush-Holley House.

Barnum Festival's Great Street Parade – Usually held in July, this is the largest parade in Connecticut to feature military units, drum corps, bag pipers, floasts, giant character balloons and clowns.
